Safety Tips for Pet Parents to Follow This Diwali

Diwali is just around the corner and like every year we are excited to celebrate it. However, do you know this festival of lights turns out to be a nightmare for our furry friends! Thousands of street dogs also face firecracker burns every year. Animals have many times stronger and sharper hearing power than human; therefore, the loud noise of firecrackers that sounds fun for us actually sounds a thousand times worse for the animals.

Due to loud noise, our furry friends might suffer from anxiety attacks, depression, lack of appetite and excessive panting. As a pet parent, it is important for you to make your pets feel safe and involve them in the celebration. To help you out, here we are sharing some quick tips to take care of your pets and stray animals during Diwali.

Diwali for Pets

  • Take your pet for a walk in the daytime, before the celebration.
  • Keep doors, windows closed and put the curtains down to prevent the loud noise.
  • Cover your pet’s ear with ear muff or a soft cloth.
  • Let your pet hide under the bed or sofa, don’t punish for getting afraid of noise.
  • Don’t leave your pet alone.
  • Keep the veterinarian’s number handy.
